Guitar Amnesty Terms and Conditions

The Guitar Amnesty is managed by Wild in Art Limited (Wild in Art). It is open to all individuals who own guitars that they no longer wish to keep, regardless of age, condition, or brand. If the person donating a guitar is aged under 18, permission will be required from a parent or guardian.

The Guitar Amnesty is limited to acoustic, electric, and bass guitars only. Other musical instruments or equipment will not be accepted.

You must ensure that all guitars donated for the Guitar Amnesty are owned by you and that you have the legal right to donate the instrument.

You agree that once the guitar is donated, it becomes the property of Wild in Art.

You will not receive any financial compensation or any other form of reward for the donation now, or at any point in the future.

Donated guitars will be used to create unique artworks, which will be displayed in locations in Manchester as part of Music for the Senses. Once a guitar is donated, it will be repurposed into artworks, which may involve alterations, disassembly, and creative modification as part of the creative process at the discretion of Wild in Art.

Wild in Art has the right to determine how and where the artwork will be displayed.

At the end of the event, decorated guitars will be auctioned to raise money for grassroots music groups and venues in Greater Manchester. Wild in Art may also choose to sell, auction, or otherwise distribute the artworks at its discretion.

Donated guitars may also be used for marketing and promotional purposes. Wild in Art will endeavour where possible to acknowledge guitar donors alongside artworks, however Wild in Art cannot accept any responsibility in respect of errors or omissions.

You should ensure that the guitar(s) are in a safe and usable condition for transformation into artwork. Donated guitars will be assessed by Rigby Music MCR. If a guitar is in particularly poor condition, Wild in Art may decide not to accept it. Guitars identified as being in very good, playable condition may be donated to a music charity instead of being transformed into artwork.

Any personal items or accessories left with the guitar(s), such as straps, picks, or cases, are accepted at the donor’s risk and will not be returned.

Guitars donated during the Guitar Amnesty are not eligible for return, exchange, or refund.

The Guitar Amnesty will take place at designated collection points as listed on musicforthesenses.co.uk and donors must deliver the guitars to the collection points during the specified collection periods. No guitars will be accepted outside of the defined Guitar Amnesty period.

Wild in Art will take reasonable care in handling donated guitars but accepts no liability for damage, theft, or loss of donated guitars during collection, transportation, or the transformation into artwork.

Wild in Art reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time, with or without notice. Any amendments will be posted on musicforthesenses.co.uk and will apply to donations made after the date of the change.

The Guitar Amnesty is provided ‘as is’, and no warranties are offered regarding the condition, repairs, or eventual use of the guitars or the artworks created from them.

These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with the Guitar Amnesty shall be resolved under the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Your data will be used for the administration of the Music for the Senses event. Subsequently, your data will be added onto Wild in Art’s database system to comply with our legal obligations.  All data provided by you may be used by Wild in Art for marketing, communications and evaluation purposes unless you opt out in writing. We don’t and never will sell or pass on any of your details to another organisation for them to use for their own purposes. We may, however, use third party organisations to help deliver services on our behalf, for example distributing our email newsletters or feedback questionnaires, or managing participant lists for our events.

The data obtained from this form will be stored and shared in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation and any other data protection legislation which may amend or supersede the GDPR.
